Tupac Amaru Shakur was a famous rapper and actor born on 16 June 1971. He was known by the public as 2Pac, or regularly as Makaveli.

How did Tupac Die?

On the night of 7 September 1996, Shakur attended the boxing match between Mike Tyson and Bruce Seldon at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. After the match ended, an associate of Knight discovered an alleged gang member of Crips from Compton, California, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, in the MGM Grand lobby. Earlier 1996, a member of Death Row’s entourage had been robbed in a Foot Locker store by Anderson and a group of Crips. The associate told Shakur, who attacked Anderson ever before. Shakur’s entourage, Knight and his followers as well, assissted in attacking Anderson. The fight didn’t escape from the hotel’s video surveilance. After the fight, Shakur and Knight went to Death Row-owned Club 662. Shakur rode in Knight’s car, together with many people in his entourage.

Police Encounter

At around 11:00 – 11:05 pm, the Metro bicycle police halted them on Las Vegas Boulevard because they were playing their car stereo too loudly and also not having license plates. Later, the party was released immediately because the police found the plates in the trunk of Knight’s car. At about 11:10 pm, at a red light at Flamingo Road near the crossway of Koval Lane facing the Maxim Hotel, their car was pulled up on the left side by two women occupying a vehicle. After Shakur exchange words with two women, he invited them to go to Club 662. At around 11:15 pm, an unkown number of people who were driving a white, four-door, and late-model Cadillac pulled up to the Shakur ‘s right side, rolled down a window, and quickly fired gunshots at him. He was wounded in the chest, pelvis, thigh and his right hand. One of the bullets went into his right lung. Knight was wounded in the head by fragmentation, although it is thought that a bullet grazed him. The Knight’s bodyguard, Frank Alexander, said that instead of riding the Knight’s car together, Shakur suggested him to drive the car of Shakur’s fiancee, just in case they needed one more vehicle to go back the hotel from the Club 662. The bodyguard reported that, Before I wake, right after the attack, a convoy’s car drove off after the attacker, but he never been told by the occupants.

Paramedics at the Scene

When the police and paramedics were presented at the scene, they took Knight and Shakur to a hospital in Southern Nevada. As the music video director Gobi’s narrative, while in the hospital, a Death Row marketing employee told him that the murderers threatened Shakur immediately after calling the record label. He said to the Las Vegas police, but they were understaffed. There are no attackers coming. At the hospital, the doctors heavily sedated him, placed him on life-support machines, but he was ultimately put under a coma after repeatedly try to leave the bed. On the afternoon of Friday, 13 September 1996, while in the critical care unit, he died of internal bleeding. Although doctors tried to revive him, they couldn’t prevent the hemorrhaging. His mother, Afeni, decided to tell the doctors to stop. He died at 4:03 pm PDT. The cause of his death was noted that the multiple gunshot wounds caused respiratory failure and cardiopulmonary arrest. His body was cremated the next day. Later, some of his ashes were mixed with marijuana and members of the Outlawz smoked them. Two months later, his fifth album, The Don Killuminati : The 7 Day Theory was released.
